Upgraded with full race-prepared automatic or manual transmissions, drag race-specific shocks and springs, manual steering and brakes, and a fully certified roll cage, a 5.4-liter supercharged engine has Manley H-beam rods, and will be accompanied by black anodized wheels from Weld Racing.

Portland Ford Dealer: Transit Connect Wagon Goes Green With EV Version
This video showcases the Ford Transit Connect Electric. Created in collaboration with Zero Dynamics corporation, the all-electric Transit Connect makes a stop at New England School of Technology where students from the green technologies departments were given a first-hand look at the car.
Steve Kitchin of New England Tech in Rhode Island had a test drive and said that this van fit in with the school’s plans to develop green technologies programs in their automotive, heating and cooling and solar technology programs. The Ford Transit Connect Electric is due to be released to consumers in the Spring of 2011.

The 2011 Ford Fiesta already contains the service, but by releasing SDK, Ford is placing initiative onto the applications designers themselves. Ever since the launch of it’s Sync My Ride developer landing page, Ford has been receiving proposals, over 1,000 to date. Now working on categorizing the submissions, Ford is also encouraging developers to take creative leaps with new mashups of services that are enhancements to the modern driving experience.
Ford’s AppLink for Sync first app roll-outs will include Pandora Internet Radio, Stitcher Smart Radio, and the OpenBeak Twitter client, with plans to include Apple iOS shortly. AppLink interfaces currently with Android and BlackBerry phones first and is available on Sync equipped selected 2011 vehicles.

Oregon Ford Dealer: 2012 Ford Focus Campaign Includes Facebook and Reality TV
Debutante excitement continues for the 2012 Ford Focus. Insideline.com reports the car will enjoy an extended roll-out with a five-week cross country rally and world promotion that chooses participants through Facebook.
Starting on the Ford Focus Facebook page, the headlines read “a test-drive like no other.” An application lets fans become part of the selection pool for test-drives. Ford will pick 100 drivers from around the world and fly them to a secret destination with opportunities for a 2 day test drive. Ford will also make donations of $10,000 each to charities in driver’s names.
The application process will begin later this month. Requirements include uploading a video clip to the Focus’ Facebook page. Each applicant must explain why they should be chosen and why the charity of their choice is worthy for this honor.
