New Ford Car: EcoBoost Engine Powers Tomorrow’s Vehicles
According to an article in the USA Today, Ford is planning to expand its line of vehicles running on the EcoBoost engine. This engine not only allows for greater power, but also top fuel economy.
While already available for some cars, Ford plans to offer the F150 truck with the EcoBoost engine. The truck is expected to have the best fuel economy in its class and still have the power and towing capability of a regular V8 engine.
By 2013, Ford is expecting to sell 1.5 million EcoBoost engines, with half of those being in the United States.
We are focused on sustainable technology solutions that can be used not for hundreds or thousands of cars, but for millions of cars, because that’s how Ford will truly make a difference – Barb Samardzich, Ford’s vice president of powertrain engineering.
